Container gardens are perfect for small spaces and for adding dimension to a landscaped space. Master Gardener Judy Peacock shared her secrets for eye-catching compositions in her presentation “The Artful Container Garden” at our June meeting. Judy’s lifelong love of nature and her natural creativity blend themselves abundantly in beautiful container gardens. Her designs can be surprising and are often whimsical, with many everyday items incorporated in unexpected and inspiring ways. May 2018 Meeting
Eleanor Craig, our guest speaker, is know across the southeast as “The Fern Lady”. Based out of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, her small specialty nursery known as “Fern Ridge Farms” ships all of the county, offering over 75 varieties of hardy garden fern, as well as select annuals, tropical ferns, perennials, natives and many fern companion plants. She was previously located in Canton, Georgia. The nursery’s exhibits and garden displays have earned numerous awards at Atlanta’s Southeastern Flower Shows. Eleanor presented all of those attending with a handout on 24 different types of ferns with their individual info on zones and growing conditions. She also brought many of these ferns for show and tell. April 2018 Meeting
On Monday, April 16, Bobbie Hicks subbed for Dr. Ed Bez who was called out of town. She presented a talk on Medicinal Uses for Bible Plants. Bobbie was extremely informative, sharing her knowledge of Biblical plants as well as essential oils for various medical conditions. She is a 20 year veteran Master Gardener from Rockdale County and is a member of the International Biblical Botanical Garden Society. Related Images:
