August — John Magyar, owner of Universal Aquatics, was our guest speaker at our August 15th meeting. John’s presentation of “All Things Water Features” from fountains to waterfalls to koi and goldfish ponds, exploring different designs for your backyard was extremely informative. The water features they’ve built are beautiful and they inspired ideas for our own yards! John has worked in the water feature industry for 25 years. Universal Aquatics specializes in backyard water feature installation, repair and maintenance. This includes installing or repairing koi ponds, waterfalls, water fountains, pondless waterfalls and more. For further information you can contact John through their website at Universal Aquatics.

June 2022 Meeting
JUNE — A nature advocate and wildlife photographer and a Hall County Master Gardener, Karin Hicks spoke on “Creating a Hedgerow for Wildlife.” She shared her adventures with creating a hedge row that met the standards of her HOA. Karin shared her plant list which is a good starting point. Use sites such as NWF.ORG plant list function, GNPS.ORG for plant descriptions, and Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder, www.missouribotanicalgarden.org, to read about plant needs and native status.
