January 2014 General Meeting

Posted on by

Our January meeting featured our own member, Mary Bachner, of the Atlanta Audubon Society speaking on the topic “Creating a Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary”.

She explained how creating a wildlife sanctuary in our backyards is such an important commitment to conserving and protecting our environment by providing these essential elements: Shelter, Food Sources, Feeders, Water and Nesting Sites.

Members and local property owners were encouraged to establish their yards as beneficial habitats for wildlife, and when requirements are met, homeowners can receive signs stating that their property is registered as a “wildlife sanctuary” with the Atlanta Audubon Society.
