March 2017 Monthly Meeting
Our topic this month was ‘Preparing Our Gardens to Welcome Pollinators‘, presented by Susan Meyers of Monarch Watch. Susan recently retired from the Stone Mountain Park education department and was “bitten by the Monarch bug” after visiting the butterflies’ overwintering colonies in Mexico in March 2003. She began volunteering with Monarchs Across Georgia, a committee of Environmental Education Alliance of Georgia. Susan facilitates educator workshops using the Monarchs & More curriculum, leads trips to the overwintering colonies in Mexico, and administers pollinator habitat grants. Her passion for pollinators and skill as an educator made her presentations truly memorable and she offered many handouts on these subjects. Related Images:
