The Gwinnett County Master Gardeners March 17th, 2014 featured Geri Laufer who spoke on “Growing and using Herbs”. It was a delightful and informative program that was enjoyed by all in attendance. Geri has extensive experience as a garden writer and is the author of Tussie Mussies, The Language and Sentiment of Flowers. She is a former Cobb County extension agent. Also tonight was the showing of the photo contest winning pictures presented by Don Stewart. Pictures will be posted in the photo gallery shortly. Related Images:

February 2014 General Meeting
We watched the weather and decided to proceed with our February meeting and auction at Bethesda Senior Center before getting cooped up again! Wise move! Kathy Parent was presented a grant from GMGA for Archie’s Garden at McDaniel Farms! We all had a great time bidding on the silent auction items and Dan Smith was a super auctioneer and many members and guests went home with some neat things. The auction raised over $1,200. 2014 Photo Contest Information and Guidelines
The Gwinnett County Master Gardeners Association is holding a photography contest for its members and friends for photographs taken during the 2013 calendar year. The photos will be judged by an experienced nature photographer from outside the organization. Results will be announced and prizes awarded at the March 2014 meeting of the Gwinnett County Master Gardeners Association. Ribbons and possibly Prizes and will be awarded for First, Second, and Third Place in each category. Honorable Mention ribbons will also be awarded in each category. At the Judge’s discretion additional honorable mention ribbons may be awarded in a given category. Contest Rules All those making submissions must be Gwinnett County Master Gardeners or Friends in good standing. Deadline for the submission of photographs is midnight Sunday Jan 26, 2014. Photographs must have been taken in Georgia in 2013. Photographs should all be nature or garden related and appropriate to the category…
