Held on Saturday, February 6th, the quarterly Walk-and-Talk was about the many, varied unusual plants in the park. Led by GCMGA members and Master Gardeners Lori Prosser and Janet Leutzinger, over 40 people attended the event in the cold morning. The Vines Volunteers are a dedicated group composed of mostly GCMGA members who work at the park every Tuesday and host a quarterly Walk-and-Talk for the county. Enjoy the pictures. Related Images:

May 2016 Meeting
Gwinnett County Master Gardener’s May 16, 2016 program featured our own member, Susan M. Varlamoff who has authored ‘Sustainable Gardening for the Southeast‘. In this informative presentation, she talked about her book which provides gardeners with simple strategies to cultivate their home landscapes with respect for natures cycles. By using sustainable gardening practices, gardeners will help create ecosystems that support a diversity of life necessary to maintain the earth’s equilibrium. Photos from our meeting Related Images:
April 2016 Monthly Meeting
Sheri Dorn, an Extension Horticulturist and State Master Gardener Coordinator at the University of GA in Griffin, was Gwinnett County Master Gardeners Association’s guest speaker on April 18, 2016. Her topic was “Sprouts” and Youth, School Learning for Children”, and we heard a thorough update on the MGSprout program in Georgia. A lot of work has gone into this new initiative for six to eight-year-olds to get them interested in gardening and it was a very informative program. Related Images:
