We were joined for our October meeting by Charles Andrews, immediate past president of the Azalea Society of America, who talked with us about native azaleas. His presentation explored the native azaleas of the Southeast, highlighting their remarkable variety of colors, fragrances, sizes, and bloom times. With 12 of the 17 North American species found in Georgia, these deciduous, easy-care plants deserve a larger place in our gardens. This meeting was also our first costume contest and many came dressed for the occasion – go to the first item in the Photo Gallery to view!
